The 7 Deadly Sins: Republicans' Anger Management Problem

Tue Oct 31, 2006 at 03:55:32 AM PDT

So I'm reading in the NYT about Democrats reaching out to evangelical voters in Ohio, and I come to this:

"The Republican is lying, and the Democrats are secular," said Joshua Porter, a video producer attending Vineyard Columbus [Church]. "Who do we vote for?"

This cognitive struggle personifies the modern Republican Party and pinpoints how it has rotted to the core.

"Massive Metastasizing Scandal"

Sun Oct 01, 2006 at 07:34:13 PM PDT

Those were the words of ABC's Dan Harris on "World News" tonight. In other words, there's a cancer on the House and its Republican leadership.

More people are coming forward, and we now know Republicans have known about ex-Rep. Foley's sexually predatory behavior toward minors for 5 years, yet they repeatedly protected the predator over the pages.

Urgent: Gov. Blanco Counterpunches

Sat Sep 03, 2005 at 04:18:28 AM PDT

Credit goes to leckavrea for finding this incredibly important information.

Gov. Blanco is fighting back against the assholes in DHS and FEMA who allege that she did not request federal assistance. On Nightline last night, Rep. Charlie Melancon (D-LA) was totally exasperated by Ted Koppel's assertions that the Feds are saying that Blanco didn't fill out the right forms!

We must push back, and now we have the ammo.

Iraqi insurgency predicted

Mon Oct 25, 2004 at 12:03:58 AM PDT

So says USA Today: http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2004-10-24-insurgence-intel_x.htm

  • Military and civilian intelligence agencies repeatedly warned prior to the invasion that Iraqi insurgent forces were preparing to fight and that their ranks would grow as other Iraqis came to resent the U.S. occupation and organize guerrilla attacks.

  • The war plan put together by Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Army Gen. Tommy Franks discounted these warnings. Rumsfeld and Franks anticipated surrender by Iraqi ground forces and a warm welcome from civilians.

  • The insurgency began not after the end of major combat in May 2003 but at the beginning of the war, yet Pentagon officials were slow to identify the enemy and to grasp how serious a threat the guerrilla attacks posed.

Des Moines Register: Kerry the real thing

Sat Oct 23, 2004 at 10:25:04 PM PDT

http://www.johnkerry.com/pressroom/news/news_2004_1024b.html

"About half of Americans have lost confidence in President Bush, yet many hang back from embracing the alternative. That's unfortunate, because Senator John F. Kerry is a wise and decent man who has the makings of a fine president."

...

"But Kerry, we believe, has a better chance of overcoming that anger. It is the nature of the man to listen and to respect others. He does not tend toward vindictiveness or in-your-face triumphalism. There is a dignity about him."

Good stuff! Let's not get down over right-wing rags in Ohio. No major paper that backed Gore has endorsed a 2nd Bush term, while Kerry has changed minds across the country. Keep up the fight!

Bush:

Carlsbad Current-Argus (Bush can stay in Carlsbad Cavern 'cause Texas already suffers from a Bush ex-president!)
